Recommendation Information

A potential new member (PNM) recommendation form, or "rec", is a letter or written statement introducing you to a sorority. Recs are sent by an alumna to her sorority’s chapter. Recs are not a guarantee that you will receive a bid from that chapter. Panhellenic does not have rec forms available and cannot obtain them for PNMs. Alumnae may find a rec form in the sorority magazine, sorority Web site or from the headquarters of each sorority. Recs are not mandatory for every sorority. However, it is encouraged that you ask alumnae you know to write a rec for you.

What should I include when sending information to alumnae for recommendations?

You should include: Resume, with personal information such as, ACT or SAT score, GPA, Leadership Activities, High School or Community involvement, and Philanthropy Projects High School/College Transcript (if alumna requests one) Photograph (head shot/current photo recommended)
Addressed and Stamped Envelope to the Chapter

Where do I mail my recommendations?

Please see the sororities page for recommendation addresses. Only mail recommendations to the listed addresses. Do not mail recommendations to the Greek Life or Panhellenic offices.
