On behalf of the Alabama Panhellenic Association, I would like to wish each and every one of you the best as you begin a new chapter of your life. The best piece of advice is to take on the experience of sorority recruitment with confidence and a positive attitude. Also, I encourage you to critically think about sorority membership and decide what you want out of your personal Greek experience.
Much like life, the more you put into a sorority, the more you will get out of it. The University is committed to the development of the Greek system, and in return, Greeks respect the rich tradition of the University and continually strive to better the campus.
Please remember that although sorority recruitment may be the first thing you participate in at the capstone, do not make it your last. Greek life is merely a stepping stone to the endless possibilities of various campus involvements. The opportunity for wide and wise human service is the tenet by which sorority women strive to live.
The University of Alabama truly offers one of the finest Greek Systems in the country. Our campus hosts fifteen gorgeous NPC sorority houses, and it is a great privilege to be apart of any one of our fifteen houses. The leadership and legacy that comes with pledging a sorority is a catalyst in developing priceless friendships as well as personal growth. However, sorority life also sets maintenance of fine standards in scholarship and service.
Don’t forget to have fun this week and be relaxed! Above all, this experience is an opportunity to make friends who are embarking on the same journey that you are.
