Where will I eat during Recruitment?

Details surrounding meals for the beginning of Fall 2024 semester will be available in the Greek Chic. Women participating in sorority recruitment will have access to dining hall options provided that they have developed a student schedule and paid their Fall bill in full or enrolled in a payment plan with Student Account Services. If you do not have an active meal plan on your Action Card, your Sigma Rho Chi (Recruitment Counselor) will be able to assist you and swipe you in only for the lunch meals scheduled during primary recruitment.

Lakeside Dining Hall, Fresh Food Company, and Mary B’s in Burke Hall will be available for meals outside of Recruitment activities. For a list of all available dining locations, click here.

What if I don’t have a confirmed meal plan at the time of Recruitment?

If you are living on-campus and have not participated in orientation prior to your arrival on campus for primary recruitment, we suggest that you start a Bama Cash account by going to http://actcard.ua.edu or bringing cash, a credit or a debit card with you. You will need money for meals until you have developed a student schedule and paid your Fall bill in full or enrolled in a payment plan with Student Account Services.

You may download your mobile action card to your mobile device, both iPhone and Android  (Android becoming available mid-May). Please visit actcard.ua.edu/orientation for more information regarding downloading the mobile card and photo submission and more Action Card information.

What if I am an upperclassman or live off-campus and do not have a meal plan?

If you do not have an active meal plan on your Action Card, your Sigma Rho Chi (Recruitment Counselor) will be able to assist you and swipe you in only for the lunch meals scheduled August 10-18, 2024, at the dining halls during primary recruitment. All other lunch meals as well as breakfast and dinner between move in and the first day of classes will be your responsibility, so plan accordingly and make sure that you have access to either cash, a credit card or a debit card.
